the one month summary

made new friends. saw old ones. panicked over dissertation. learned what “differentiation” is and began to fear it. lots of laughter. a new love of competition television. gotten others addicted to both vampire diaries and vicar of dibley. saw a favorite from waco. found a new faith home. got first pieces of mail. turned twenty-eight. remembered why i love this country. gotten my feet so wet they wrinkled. changed my academic discipline. planned a trip to amsterdam, one to wales and one to dublin. gotten a paper accepted at a conference.

feeling completely settled. gotten tired of living in belfast. gotten used to constantly feeling damp. figured out where my office is. felt like a real PhD candidate. (but we’ll get there, right?)
